The City is the setting used in a 2009 video game Mirror’s Edge. The story concernes totalitarian governemnt controlling population via visual messages and oppressive propaganda. The environment tends to be color-coded: most of the outside areas tend to revoke the shades of blue, white and orange. Simple colours are also used inside the structures: mainly green, yellow and blue. There is a strong sense of geometric lines created not only by colour patterns but also by the striking contrast of always-sunny weather. Mazes and corridors created by high-rise buildings channel population within pre-defined routes. Hints of vapour, plants and sunny rays try to soften the clinical ambience. The in-game people do not cast shadows - buidlings and idelogies do.
